AEA Advisory Board: Applications now open

Applications are now open for the long-term appointments to Australia’s Economic Accelerator (AEA) Advisory Board.

The AEA Advisory Board plays a pivotal role in advising the Minister for Education on the translation and commercialisation of university research, and will make recommendations on large grants.

The Board consists of a Chair, Deputy Chair and up to 6 members. The Board will meet between 5 to 7 times a year and provide expert advice and guidance on the AEA program.

Each position will be appointed for up to 5 years and be eligible for reappointment for 2 additional terms.

The program is looking for candidates with expertise in one or more of the National Reconstruction Fund Corporation’s (NRFC) priority areas.

Ideal candidates for the Board will have:

  • relevant expertise and experience in one or more of the NRFC priority areas,
  • previous experience serving on boards or committees in the public or private sector, 
  • a strong understanding of governance principles and best practices, 
  • commercial acumen and a track record of successful research commercialisation, 
  • excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, and 
  • a commitment to the vision and mission of the AEA and the advancement of Australian research and innovation.

AEA is helping to bring innovative research to market, through competitive grants of up to $5 million to support the translation of research into market-ready products and services.

To receive AEA funding, projects must be in one of the NRFC’s priority areas that have the potential to drive economic and social benefits for Australia.
