Other research grants and support

The Australian Government invests in research and development across a number of portfolio agencies. Beyond AEA, National Industry PhD and the Trailblazer programs, researchers and industry stakeholders aiming to commercialise research can seek support and guidance from other agencies’ programs.

Department of Industry, Science and Resources

The department administers a series of programs and services that support research, collaboration, entrepreneurship and commercialisation. In particular, the Industry Growth Program provides advices and funding for commercialisation of ideas and growing businesses.

Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation

CSIRO programs and funding streams are designed to eliminate common barriers to innovation and accelerate progress. The ON innovation program, for example, equips Australia's publicly funded researchers and SMEs with the skills, networks and pathways needed to transform breakthrough ideas into real-world impact.

The Australian Research Council

The ARC offers a range of grants to support research. This includes the ARC Linkage program which aims to encourage and extend cooperative research and improve the use of research outcomes by strengthening links within the innovation system in Australia and internationally.

National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy

NCRIS is a highly collaborative and distinctively Australian program that maximises Australia’s national research infrastructure investments by coordinating open access, targeted specialities, and co-funding across the country. Research Infrastructure Connected can help you find and access over $4 billion worth of tools, data and expertise to address your research challenges.
