AEA Seed was a pilot program that ran ahead of the full implementation of AEA and supported proof-of-concept projects (Technology Readiness Level 3 to 5).
Grants between $50,000 and $500,000 were available to confirm proof-of-concept on research ideas pursuing a commercial and translational outcome.
The grants were targeted to the experimental end of the research and development spectrum and aim to foster investment and collaboration between industry and university researchers.
AEA Seed was an opportunity to test and refine program assumptions and demonstrate the capacity of the program to deliver on its intended outcomes prior to the full implementation of AEA.
More than $26 million is being invested in nearly a hundred projects in the Australian Government identified priority areas for the economy, outlined in the National Reconstruction Fund Corporation (Priority Areas) Declaration 2023.
The full list of successful projects can be found on the Funded Projects page.
